Today we had a pretty good class. We started out with a sub because Mr.Schick was out for the first mod of class. So, the
sub came in and got Darien’s labtop to hook up to the smart board and watch the
movie. When we started watching it we heard noice in the background from and
add. So we went through a big ordeal to try and get it off but it never worked.
Then Parker said the day when she let us use her computer to finish the video. After
the video was over Mr.Schick came and we
talked about cars for the second mod of cars.

Class Work 10/12/12
In class today, you will do a mini-research project. Take these five key religions - Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Judaism - and answer these questions about each one.
Christianity was a religion that was founded in the middle of the first century. It was founded in the middle east. Christianity is a monotheistic religion. That means that they only believe in one savior There one savior is God. Everything about God is shown through the Christian's holy book. This book is called the "Bible". There are many people who fallow this religion. I know because 2.2 billion people are Christians, which is the largest religion. The central figure of this religion is Jesus. Christianity is found in many country's. However, it is practiced the most in the United States.
Islam:
The Islam religion was started by an angel in 610 AD. It was founded at a certain place because it was founded when Adam was born.
- When and where was this religion founded?
- Is it monotheistic or polytheistic?
- If they have a holy book, what is it?
- How many followers does this religion claim?
- Who is the central figure of this religion?
- What is the geographical concentration of this religion?

Today we had a very good conversation on cultural. We talked about how some cultures really depended on there langue my notes were....
10/10/12
Today we had a normal class. It was kind of boring because all we did was share our power points and take note on the other two groups power points. The first group to present was the Native American group. Some of the the things that they shared in the power point i never knew before. then my group was next to share so i wait for my slide to pop up but it never did so i am guessing that someone deleted it and that really bugs me because i worked kind of hard on that. Then the last group shared. The last group did not get to share their whole power point because the bell rang in the middle of it.
10/8/12
Today we started class with our normal prayer then Mr.Schick told us about our new class mate Mike. When he told us everyone cheered and got excited. Then before everyone got quiet again he came in. So Mr.Schick made everyone be quiet so he could introduce him to the class. then Mr.Schick started to teach. He started by talking about the vikings, Christopher Columbus, and Native Americans. He told us that we were going get into three groups and do a slideshow as a group on one of the three groups. So we divided up and starting working on it then the bell rung.

Today was a very interesting class. We started class with
our normal prayer, then Mr. Schick told us about the cyber terrorist on Tuesday
that erased everything one our webpage for cite to find out how we as a school can
help people over in Africa. Mr. Schick was not happy at all when he told us
because kids took advantage of their privileges. I believe that the other kids
in the class that were doing what they were supposed to, were also mad because then
they will have to restart all of what they have done already.
10/1/12
Today was a very fun day. Today we
watched our video. The name of our movie is “God Grew Tired of Us”. This movie is very interesting. One of the
ways that it shows us how good we have it here in the U.S. After seeing this
movie it bugs me when people complain about the U.S. This bugs me because we
live in a good country. I know we do because we are a developed nation, we don’t
have a terrible war going on in our country, and we are not being pushed out of
our country. These are all very good this because if the first to were wrong
then that would make the third wrong, which would not be good at all for the
country. This is just some of the many
reasons that it bugs me when people complain about America.

Today
is was not ready for class. I was not ready because we had a test and I really don’t
like tests. Before the test Mr. Schick show us how we should not be the first
one done and yell. Then get in everyone’s face and tell them you beat them c
you got done first. Then he told us how freshman are always full of energy. He said
that it is good, but he does not know why we are. He said once we turn in our
test not to talk because the people around us will start to freak out because
everyone else was done. Then they will not be able to cosintrate and they will
rush through and finish as fast as possible. Then we took the test and it was a
lot easier then I thought it would be. It was only 36 questions. After the test
we watched a video called “God Grew Tired of Us”. This video is very
interesting. It is also sad because a lot of kids died as they were walking from
place to place. The things that killed them were bombings, animals, and
starvation. I am looking forward to this video

Today was one of the funniest days of class yet. Today was so fun because it was kind of like an open discussion. It started out with us just stating a fact we saw in the did you know 3.0 video. Then once we stated the fact we would discuss how that is so different from the past. One of the facts was that if your one in a million, there are 1500 people just like you in China. This means that when someone calls one in a million it does not make you that unique because of how many people live on earth. This was very interesting to me. This was so interesting because it just shows me how many people are actually on earth. this was my mpost fun class of any other class in the whole year.

Today we had a really good time in class. We started with our saying, then Mr.Schick told us what we were going to do for the day. He said we were going to learn how to put links on our blog page, which is really not that hard but there is a lot of steps to it. Then we were going to talk about Wikipedia. For most of the class we learned about how Wikipedia is a very good cite to use. It is very good because you can trust a lot of the information. The way you can know if it is okay information to use is to see if the information is cited. If it is cited. Then you should go to the cite and see if it is a valuable cite. Now that i know how to do this i will most definantly use this in the future at least to find a cite to get info off of.
9/6/12
Today in class we worked on our note talking skills all class. Today we started class with our normal saying, which is "This is the day the lord has gave. Let us rejoice and be glad!". Then he told us what we were going to do today. After that Mr.Schick told us to get our composition books. Then he said to take
notes on what he read. So I asked him what were were taking notes on and he said Illinois. However I thought he said elliniose. So i didn't know what to write on the top of the page so I just guessed. Then he told us bunch of facts like, its where he was born, half the people in the state live in or around Chicago, and Mr.Schick was born in a bad neighborhood because his moms doctor was busy. Then we shared our notes and Austin Smith had very detailed notes so Mr.Schick said if he had to get someone to deliver a letter to Garcia he would ask Austin to. That is just about all that happened in class today.

Essay3
I plan to have a very good future at John Carroll. My first step in doing so is to do all my home work. this is going to help me have a good future here because doing home work will help me understand what we are doing in class. The second thing i am going to do is keep up on my class work. This is very important because once you get behind it is hard to catch up. My third step will be to stay out of trouble. I want to stay out of trouble because I do not want to get detentions because it will get my in trouble with my sports coach and it will take more homework time away from me. My fourth step is going to be to make a lot of friends. I want to make a lot of friends so I can trust people for help and so i can have people to talk to if something bad happens in my life. My fifth and final step is to do my best at every thing I do this is going to help me because it will open my up to a lot of oppertunities that i wouldn't get otherwise.
Essay 2
I believe that if Elbert Hubbard and Socrates time traveled to the year 2012 they would be very ashamed. They would be so ashamed because of how lazy everyone is now a days. I know they would be ashamed because people today are more lazy than people were back then. They are more lazy because now people have computers and machines to do every thing for them. For example if someone would have wanted to talk to someone who was fa away they would have to write a letter and take it to someone to hand deliver it. However now a days all you have to do is take 3 seconds and send a text message or call them.

Essay 1
My original definition for the word arete is to use your gifts to the best of your ability. This is some one who takes everything that god has given to them and uses it to be the best person they can be. They did this by taking over there government and making a new one from what the people had to say. I think that Socrates shows this very well. He shows this so well because he used his skills and created a theory. When he created this theory very one thought he was wrong and that he messed up young peoples thinking. When the town found out they said he could either say he was sorry for messing with ever one's heads or die.He did not want to apoligize because he knew he was right so he died and the town came to find out later that he was right. This shows arete because he used his gifts to make theory that he know was right and he died for it.

Today I had a very good day. I finally got to ask Mr.Schick some questions about my blog and I finally got it set up and running good. Then Mr.Schick started telling us about the debate team that he runs he said you do a lot of work ,but you have a lot of fun while your doing it. When he was in the middle of telling us how it works Lexie called out and said "Mr.Schick can we have those donuts underneath your cart!". When he heard her he kind of ignored her and kept talking about the debate team. Then he changed topics and started talking about class. He said he had to take notes on what he read ,but I didn't know what to write about so I just wrote down things that sounded important to me. I was nervous when he got done because I didn't know what we were using the notes for or if I even wrote down the right things. Then I came to find out I wrote down the right thing and it was just to recite what he read. After that Mr.Schick gave everyone donuts and the class was over.

Today was a really long day. It was long because my computer was messed up I spent a whole mod in the tech lag getting stuff fixed. I also could not do any work so I got behind, but by the end of the day I got my blog set up and had a good day. I did have a lot of fun in class today. I think i'm really starting to like John Carroll. There is a lot of really fun and cool people. One of the best things is that there is always someone to talk to no matter what you want to talk about or need help with. Human Geo is one of the most fun classes I have in the whole school. My class is the most fun class out of all of his classes because we have fun and still learn. Today we started with prayer. Then we got our seats and Mr.Schick took role and talked about the syllabus.

My First Day
My First Day
Today was my first day of high school it was cool. I met a lot of new friends and hung out with my old friends. That was one of the biggest reasons I wanted to come back to school.Class today was very short . It was a very fun class though. We talked about blogs and how to use them. Today I was late to class because I thought we had to go to free mod. When I was late it was kinda funny because Mr.Schick was making some funny comments. We also found out that we need composition books for class on Monday. We also need our blogs set up and ready for class. For homework tonight we were to type this blog which I am doing now. It should be one fifty to two hundred words. We are also have to read the class syllabus and set Google chrome as our default browser. I think the funnest thing that happened today in class was when Mr.Schick came around the room with a little video camera and videoed us during class. He said he was going to show us this when we graduate Today was a good first day!!!.
